Hi. My name is Josee Smith. I will be a Senior at Hayden High School and am a 5th generation Routt County resident. I have participated in 4-H/FFA for 10 years in Horse and Market Swine projects. I am the FFA President for the Hayden Chapter, participate in Varsity Basketball, Student Council, and NHS. I have Cricket and Penny, my Market Swine gilts available this year. Money earned from the Livestock Sale goes towards my horse expenses, college savings, and next year's project. Thank you to all my previous private treaty and Livestock Sale Buyers and to Mike Bell Construction for purchasing my pig last year. Howdy, my name is Makinly Long and this is my 6th year in 4-H and my 6th year showing Market Beef. I am a 7th generation rancher in South Routt County, where I have successfully started my own show calf herd, Long's Show Calves.
My projects this year include Market Beef, Breeding Beef and Veterinary Science. I will be showing two Market steers this year, Duke and G.W. Duke is a pretty special steer, he is the first show calf I have raised out of my own show calf herd. I will be selling one of my Market steers in the sale this year. I would like to thank Lucky 8 Ranch for buying my 2022 Market Steer and their continued support to the 4-H program. I would also like to thank all of the people who have added on to the sale of my steers in the past. I'm really excited for this year's fair and look forward to seeing you all at the 2023 Routt County Fair and Junior Livestock Sale. My name is Bransyn Estes and I am 11 years old. I am with the Ranch House 4-H Club. This year is going to be my 3rd year in 4-H. I am showing pigs to sell at the Junior Livestock Sale. Both of my pigs are durocs. Their names are Popcorn and Lola.

My name is Shae Estes and I have been in Ranch House 4-H Club for 5 years now! I really enjoy showing market hogs, they are a lot of fun but some hard work! This year I have two spotted pigs and their names are Lollipop and Daisy. They both are amazing and super funny! Both Lollipop and Daisy have such funny personalities. With the 4-H money I get, it’s going into my savings account so I can buy my first vehicle and to save up for college!

I am with the Flat Top 4-H Club and this is my 5th year in 4-H. This year my projects include Market Swine, Market Sheep and Shooting Sports. For the 2023 Jr. Livestock Auction I will be selling one of my market pigs.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the auction in person this year. During the auction I will be in Pueblo competing at the 4H State Shooting Championship. I have qualified in ten events between air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle and .22 pistol. I was a State Champion in three individual events and on two State Champion teams last year and I hope to repeat or even do better this year. Luckily, I have made so many good friends in 4-H that I will have one of them showing my pig in the auction. I am showing 2 market swine this year at the Routt County Fair. This year is a little different because I chose to show a different breed of pig. This year, I purchased a Duroc and a Hampshire to show. They are both cool pigs. My Duroc's name is Annie and my Hampshire's name is Oakley. I am part of the Handy Lads and Lassies 4-H club and I am the reporter for my club. This year I am showing market pig for the first time.
For market pigs I have 2 pigs, 1 barrow and 1 gilt, and their names are Batman and Robin. I am so excited to be able to show a market animal for the first time and to have the amazing experience with my pigs. In the process of raising my pigs I have learned a lot, like how to properly take care of them and seeing their different personalities. I love how much they like being in their pool and how they run around all excited when I start to fill it up. I am looking forward to seeing you all at the Junior Livestock Sale this year! |
