Howdy, I’m Jet! I live on a ranch with my buddy Jazz. He looks just like me except he has a white face but no one is perfect. The kid in the picture with me takes care of us, his name is Teagan Herold and he’s 11 yrs. old. He’s handy to have around because he scratches us and feeds us and washes us and stuff. Good thing we taught him about responsibility, hard work and doing what is right. We had to teach him about stuff like that because he also has pigs and rabbits. His pigs make a lot of noise and it’s easy to tell when he feeds them. His rabbits are very quiet, we never hear them. I like the quiet neighbors.
Teagan sometimes tells us stories about how much fun he has with the Handy Lads and Lassies 4-H club and shooting archery and .22 rifle in 4-H shooting sports. He never takes us to practice though, he says “it’s only for people, not for steers.” We like to have fun too! Jazz and I are excited to go to the fair where all the fun and friends are. Hope to see you there, too!
Thank you Dr. Lee Meyring and Steamboat Veterinary Hospital for buying my 2016 market pig and Bill Gay for buying my 2016 rabbit meat pen at the Junior Livestock Sale last year. It is all the people who support us that make our livestock projects possible. - Teagan
