Hi, I'm Levi Allen, and this is my 4th year in 4-H. I am 12 years old and will be a 7th grader at the Steamboat Springs Middle School. This year I have two Market Steers: Harley and Drego. Harley has a great personality as well as a good build and is muscular. Drego is stubborn because he will not move without halter, and if he does decide to walk he'll move onto my toes and stay there! I am excited for this year's fair. I am also in the Roping Club and on the Livestock Judging Team. Judging has been great to help me learn to speak in public better and meet new people. Outside 4-H I like to downhill ski race with SSWSC and play baseball.
Can't wait to see you at the Livestock Sale!
Hi! My name is Leah Allen, and I am 13 years old. This is my 5th year in 4-H, and I will be an 8th grader at the Steamboat Springs Middle School. This year I have a Market Steer named John Wayne. He is a nice structured Charolais steer, with a great temperament and personality. John Wayne loves attention, and I give him lots of it every day. He was born on our family ranch, and I had my eye on him since he was born because his mom was such a good looking cow and great mama.
In 4-H, I also enjoy Livestock Judging because I am learning so much about animals, public speaking more confidently, and I meet lots of new people wherever we go! In school, I love math and science (and think I want to be a Meat Scientist when I grow up), and I play volleyball.
Hope to see you at the fair!
My name is Cole Moon, I am 14 and a member of The Elk River Wranglers 4-H Club. I have been part of 4-H for two years. This year I am showing a horse and steer. 4-H has been a great experience for me. I have learned about how to train and grow a market animal and many other valuable skills. I hope to show a steer again next year and continue to do horse.
I hope to see you at fair!
Howdy! My name is Camryn Dines. I am 13 years old and have been active in 4-H for 8 years. Three years as a Clover Bud and five years showing horses, goats and now breeding, raising and showing my market steers. My 2017 market steer’s name is Moose and he is all Black Angus. He was bred and raised right here in Routt County. I look forward to seeing you Saturday, August 19th at the Bobby Robinson Memorial BBQ and the Jr Livestock Auction!
A big Thank You to Arie and Sharon Hoogendoorn and CJ and Nancy Mucklow for buying my 2016 Market Steer
Hey! My name is Kayla Rossi, and this is my fifth year in 4-H. I am a member of the Flat Top 4-H Club, and I show beef, sheep, and goats. My market projects this year are market steer, market goat, and market lamb. This is my first year showing in the market steer project, and my fifth year showing market goats and market lambs. The one thing that I love about doing my market animal projects is getting to know my animals’ personalities each year because they are all different and special. The leadership skills gained in 4-H is also pretty awesome!
Thank you to Steamboat Meat & Seafood Co. for purchasing my 2016 Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb and Master Petroleum Co. for buying my 2016 Grand Champion Market Goat. I look forward to the 2017 Routt County Fair and hope to see you there! I hope you will stop by to meet my animals and say hello!
Hi my name is Josie Meyring. This is my 4th year in 4H. I show horses, cattle, and last year I showed a lamb. In 4H I also participate in Vet Science and Livestock Judging. In my free time, I like to ride my horse, barrel race, and work on our ranch. I love 4H and all it has to offer, and how it has helped me become more responsible, and I've learned a lot. Thank you to Rooney's Round Mountain Ranch for buying my 2016 Grand Champion Market Steer, Bugs Bunny. This year I am showing two steers, Cinnamon and Boxer.
I am looking forward to the Fair and hope to see you there!
Hi my name is Emmitt Meyring. I have been in 4H for 6 years and I show Breeding and Market Beef and participate in Roping, and Livestock Judging. Thank you to Lucky 8 ranch for buying my 2016 Market Steer, King. I also want to thank Rooney's Round Mountain Ranch for their support of all my 4H projects, and support of Routt County 4H.
I like the challenge of 4H and hanging out with my friends at the Fair. I enjoy showing cattle and plan on continuing in 4H.
I feel lucky to have so many great supporters, and Routt County 4H is lucky to have so many supporters. We have a great Junior Livestock Sale in Routt County and I look forward to the 2017 Fair.
Hope to see you at the Fair and the JR. Livestock Sale!
Hi! My name is Olivia Rossi and this is my 4th year in 4H. Every year I look forward to doing my steer project for 4H and especially going to fair! What I love about 4H is that every year I grow and learn something new. Thank you to Steamboat Powersports for buying my 2016 Market Steer! We live in an amazing place, and I am thankful for all the love and support this community has to give. Come and say "Hello!" to me and my steer Tom Cruise at the fair.
Hope to see you there!
Hi! My name is Britney Iacovetto and this is my third year in the market beef project. I LOVE to show steers! (As much as I love to ride horses!) My steer's name is Gambler and I raised him from my own cow herd. Working in the market beef project through 4-H has taught me so much. It's taught me responsibility, accountability, and hard work pays off. I'm excited to show Gambler at the 2017 Routt County Fair and I hope that you can join us for a day of fun at the fair!
Hi! My name is Bailey Iacovetto and I'm a sophomore at Soroco High School. This is my second year participating in the market beef project in 4-H and FFA. I have grown up on ranch and I have a love and appreciation for agriculture. I enjoy the hard work that goes in to our projects, as well as seeing the end product of that work.
Needless to say, my steer this year has taken a lot of hard work, but it has been totally worth it! I'm excited about showing my steer, Dodge, at the Routt County Fair in August. I thank you for your support of 4-H and FFA in the Yampa Valley and I hope to see you at the fair!
This blog is for the use of all 4-H/FFA livestock members. Members can submit a story about their projects and experiences in 4-H, to be published for you, the buyers!
